About the Founder of Maynami

Hi, I’m Maynesha, the founder of Maynami.

Founded in 2025, Maynami began during a season of change, reflection, and simplifying life. It started with a desire to make quality products more accessible within the island communities I call home while encouraging intentional choices over constant consumption.

As I navigate the early seasons of building a small business, I continue learning what makes products meaningful, valuable, and worth bringing into everyday life. Through each challenge, lesson, and season of growth, the vision for Maynami has become clearer — creating a comfort-centered lifestyle brand rooted in intentional living, creativity, meaningful products, and helping people create a life that feels like home.

Island Roots & Perspective

I’m originally from Guam and currently building Maynami within the Mariana Islands.

Growing up surrounded by island communities shaped the way I see life, connection, and the things we choose to bring into our homes. Island living teaches you to appreciate simplicity, value what truly matters, and be mindful of how we use our resources.

There is a slower rhythm to island life — one that encourages presence, gratitude, and intentional choices. It reminds me that a meaningful life is not always about having more, but about creating space for what matters most.

This perspective continues to influence Maynami and the way I approach every product, creation, and story I share.

The Meaning Behind Maynami

The name Maynami is personal to me.

“May” represents me, my journey, and the experiences that have shaped who I am. “Nami” means wave in Japanese, representing the natural movement of life — seasons of growth, change, uncertainty, and new beginnings.

Life comes in waves. Some seasons are calm, while others challenge us to adapt, learn, and grow.

Maynami was created around the idea of embracing those waves rather than resisting them. It is about finding balance, moving intentionally through each season, and creating a life surrounded by things that bring comfort, meaning, and joy.

My Creative & Intentional Living Journey

Maynami began during a season of simplifying and becoming more intentional with the way I live.

I realized I wanted to live with less, but live better. To me, intentional living is not about having nothing — it is about choosing what truly adds value to your life.

Through this process, I discovered a love for curating, creating, and storytelling. I became inspired by the idea that everyday items can hold meaning when they are thoughtfully chosen, carefully created, and connected to our personal stories.

Maynami allows me to explore creativity through handmade creations, personalized pieces, digital resources, curated products, and giving pre-loved items a second life. Each offering reflects my belief that quality, purpose, and authenticity matter.

As I continue learning the creative and entrepreneurial process, Maynami is also a reflection of personal growth, discovery, and finding my own identity through building something meaningful.

Inspired by Momo

A special part of Maynami is inspired by my dog, Momo.

Momo’s journey with allergies opened my eyes to the challenges of finding thoughtful, quality pet products within island communities. This experience inspired the creation of Momo’s Corner — a space dedicated to mindful pet lifestyle goods that support the comfort and well-being of our furry family members.

Just like the products I choose for people, I believe the things we provide for our pets should be selected with care, intention, and love.
